I feed a bunch of boys on Thursday mornings for my husbands bible study group...I am always looking for great breakfast recipes...this recipe is a combo of several recipes i found that were very good, I have made this with just the sausage and I made it with just ham and I also made it with crumbled cooked bacon....so the options are WIDE OPEN.....just be careful on the salt content...i do not add any salt. The combination of these meats adds enough salt for one persons intake for the day........I promise!!!!
1 loaf of bread
1 pound ground mild sausage
10 eggs, beaten
1 can evaporated milk
pinch of pepper
1 pound of ham cubed into tiny pieces
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese
butter the bottom of your 18 1/2 x 9 1/2 pan. Cut the crust off each piece of bread, (start with 1/2 the loaf, you may not use the whole loaf)....lay each piece on the bottom of the pan, make sure it is completely covered...Fry the sausage and drain. Place the ham pieces over the bread, then put the crumbled sausage, sprinkle the cheese over the meat mixture
I totally forgot to take a picture of the bread laying in the bottom i took this one to show you that the bread is completely covering the bottom.
. Beat the eggs and add the milk and mix in with the eggs, pour over the casserole. Cover and refridgerate over night.
ready for the fridge..........In the morning preheat oven to 350. Bake the casserole for 45 min or until eggs are set......
MEATZA MEATZA..........................this is seriously so yummy
